The incident coincided with a local thunderstorm but we do not know at this time whether those events were related.

For example, the Sago Mine has had more than 30-40 inspectors in the mine virtually every day. They typically issue citations in connection with this heightened scrutiny, whether related to the accident or not. Therefore, it is probable that additional citations may be issued as the investigative team finishes its work. Our employees on site will continue to address promptly any violations or other concerns that are raised.
